This story is a literature review relating to goal 6 of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. This goal seeks to ensure access to safe drinking water and sanitation for all. In this story I explore news articles as well as scholarly journals in order to glean a better picture of literature surrounding this topic. With access to safe water and sanitation being a prerequisite to physical health, understanding the current picture and pathways forward for this goal is of utmost importance. Water is undeniably a human right and it is not until everyone has safe access to it that they can be fully involved in other areas of sustainable development.
